The Verne Cooper Foundation, Inc.

The Verne Cooper Foundation, Inc. was formed in 1994 by Mrs. Verne Cooper, a long-time resident of Honey Grove, Texas and successful business woman. After Mrs. Cooper's death in 1996, the remainder of her estate was left to the Foundation.

The Foundation is a non-profit corporation formed in the State of Texas and is a Section 501(c)(3) Organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation is managed by its board of trustees.

Each year, the Foundation's income is used primarily to fund scholarships. Eligible recipients include graduating high school seniors, and students continuing their undergraduate or graduate school education. Additionally, an applicant must be either a graduate of a Fannin County High School or be a resident of Fannin County when the individual applies.

Scholarships are awarded to students attending traditional colleges and universities and also trade and technical schools. Over the last 5 years, the Foundation has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships annually.

Scholarship applications are received once per year and the scholarship deadline for 2024 applications is April 26, 2024.
